April 2012 Inspiration Challenge

Everyone needs a little inspiration, and most of us do love a good challenge. So lets have some fun. Every once in a while I will post a challenge here on the 7 Card Draw blog, (so bookmark this blog or follow with the gadget on the right hand side of the blog.

Rules: This challenge is open to any artist, you do not have to be a "7 Card Draw" team member. It is open to paintings, drawings, pen & ink, collage, mixed media, photography, digital art, etc. Must be NEW art... something new you are creating now, not something you have created in the past, as the purpose of this is to get us all creating. Each person may enter 3 ACEO's.

Time: You will have approx 2 to 3 weeks to complete your ACEO's. There will be approx 1 week for voting.Make sure to read the details for each challenge at the very bottom of the post.

Winners: 1 Winner will be chosen based on the highest number of votes. I will also pick a favorite as an honorable mention.

Prizes: Sometimes there may be bigger prizes, sometimes smaller prizes and sometimes there may not be prizes.

Additional Note: I am going to allow myself to enter these challenges if I ever get the inspiration to make something that fits the challenge, but I will not be a winner, if my ACEO is ever picked prizes will go to the runner up.

April's challenge is EARTH DAY, it can be interpreted many different ways, environmental, cleaning up the world, words and phrases, endangered animals, the earth, recycling, etc, etc, etc. Show us what comes to mind when you think of Earth Day.

The prize for the winner of this challenge is: 1 Strathmore Mixed Media Visual Art Journal, 5.5 x 8 inches, and 68 pages of 90 lb paper. Also 2 packages of Strathmore 12 Assorted ATC / ACEO Blanks, 7 types of paper, pre-cut . 3.5 x 2.5 inches. This prize is donated by Pam of alwaysartistic.

The prize for the 2nd place winner is: This beautiful 5x7 acrylic painting on canvas board, it has a ribbon for hanging. This prize was donated by Stacy of MagicLoveCrow.

When you have created your ACEO's upload them to your Etsy shop, blog, website, photobucket, etc and then copy the link and come back here and use the InLinkz button below this post to enter it. Each ACEO will show up as a thumbnail below this post.

When voting begins come back to this challenge post. At the bottom under the thumbnails you will be able to vote for your favorite ACEO. Each IP address may vote once per challenge.

You have until 11:59pm on April 29th to submit your ACEO's. Voting begins on May 1st at 12:00am and ends 11:59pm on May 7th, 2012. Times are on Mountain Time.
